Homework for the rest of this week...
Your homework for the remainder of this week is to meet with your mentor (if you have not already done so) and finalize your narrative essay! The final essay is due in class on Friday.
Homework due Tuesday 12/6/2016
Please bring in your full rough draft tomorrow.
Homework due Monday 12/5/16
I'm changing the assignment for Monday! Originally, I wanted you to bring the full rough draft, which means you would have had to write the reflection paragraph this weekend. Instead, you can hold off on that paragraph. INSTEAD, I just want you to insert details into your current draft to characterize yourself as the narrator. Make these changes, and bring in a fresh printed copy on Monday.
Homework due Friday 12/2/16
The next two sections of the narrative essay are due on Friday. This means the Background Paragraph and the Story Paragraphs! Please have these TYPED for class!
Homework due Thursday 12/1/16
There is nothing due tomorrow, but keep in mind that the next section of the essay is due on Friday. Here are all of the deadlines for the narrative essay:

Journal Selected: Tuesday, November 29th
Opening Paragraph Due: Wednesday, December 30th
Background and Story Paragraphs Due: Friday, December 2nd
Full Rough Draft Due: Monday, December 5th
Final Narrative Essay Due: Friday, December 9th
Homework due Tuesday 11/29/30
Select the narrative you want to polish, and bring it to class tomorrow. You may bring any type of hard copy (handwritten or typed).

A mentor meeting is required for this final narrative essay. Schedule your mentor meeting NOW!
Homework over the Thanksgiving weekend...
As long as you have finished your food narrative, there is no homework over the Thanksgiving weekend. If you were absent, please check the Homework Handouts folder at the bottom of this page for the food narrative prompts. I've also posted the article we read in class - "How Ramen Got Me Through Adolescence."

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Homework due Tuesday 11/22/16
There is nothing due at the start of class on Tuesday, but keep in mind that your food narrative will be due at the end of class on Tuesday. You may need to do some work on that tonight in order to write your full 1.5-2 pages by the end of class on Tuesday.
Homework due Monday 11/21/16
Enjoy your weekend.
Homework due Friday 11/18/16
There is nothing due tomorrow.
Homework due Thursday 11/17/16
We'll have a quiz on phrases tomorrow! Study your notes from Tuesday and Wednesday.
Homework due Wednesday 11/16/16
Last night you wrote a narrative about a time in which you acted foolishly or impulsively. Your homework for tomorrow (Wednesday) is to pick one moment from that narrative to "explode." Aim for 7-10 sentences in your notebook.
Homework due Tuesday 11/15/16
Write a narrative in your notebook, about a page, in which you recall a time when you acted dangerously or impulsively.

Maybe you were dared.
Maybe you were showing off.
Maybe you were trying to prove yourself to somebody. Maybe you just weren't thinking at all.

Tell the story of what happened, including some details that characterize you along the way.
Over the weekend...
There is no homework. Enjoy the weekend.
Homework due Thursday 11/10/16
Your final expository paper is due tomorrow! You need to turn in
1) Your polished final draft
2) Your rough draft with my comments
3) Your mentor signatures.

PLEASE COME WITH THESE THREE THINGS STAPLED IN THIS ORDER!
Homework due Wednesday 11/9/16
Please type up the Map Narrative that we completed in class. Bring a printed copy of this narrative to class on Wednesday. Aim for one page double-spaced.
Coming up...
Your second (and final) expository draft is due on November 10th.
Homework due Friday 11/4

Keep in mind that your FINAL expository piece is due on November 10th. That's next Thursday.
Homework due Thursday 11/3

Homework due Tuesday 11/1
There is nothing due on Tuesday, but keep in mind that draft #1 is due Wednesday. This draft is worth 40 points.
